What is the check-in process?
Check-In ProcessArrive at your scheduled time: Please plan to arrive on time for your rental pickup or check-in so we can keep all reservations running smoothly.Have your reservation ready: Provide the name on the booking and your confirmation details so we can quickly locate your order.Bring a valid ID: The renter listed on the reservation must present a valid photo ID at check-in. Must be 18 and older. Review your rental order: We’ll confirm the games, event package, rental dates/times, return details, and any add-ons included with your reservation.Complete any remaining paperwork: If needed, you’ll sign the rental agreement, damage policy, and any applicable waiver before equipment is released.Equipment walkthrough: Our team will review how to set up, use, and pack up your yard games, including giant Jenga, cornhole, ladder toss, Connect 4, ring toss, and other rentals.Condition check: We’ll inspect the items with you before they leave to confirm everything is clean, complete, and ready for your event.Loading assistance: We’ll help organize your rental items for pickup and provide any tips for safe transport. What should I bring?
We recommend bringing: valid ID. All required safety equipment is provided.
How do refunds work?
Refund Policy: Refunds are processed to the original payment method whenever possible. Once approved, refunds are typically submitted within 2 business days and may take 5–7 business days to appear, depending on your bank or card provider.Cancellations 7+ days before your rental: Full refund.Cancellations 3–6 days before your rental: 50% refund or the option to reschedule based on availability.Cancellations within 48 hours: Payments are non-refundable, but we’ll do our best to help you reschedule.Refundable deposits: Any applicable damage/security deposit will be refunded after items are returned and inspected, usually within 2–3 business days.If we must cancel due to severe weather, safety concerns, or equipment availability, you’ll receive a full refund or may choose to reschedule at no additional charge.
What if the rental is damaged?
Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit may be required and will be listed at checkout or on your rental agreement. Deposits are typically held on the renter’s credit card and released after all items are returned and inspected.Normal Wear & Tear: We expect games to be enjoyed! Light scuffs, grass marks, and minor surface wear from normal outdoor use are generally not considered damage.Damage Beyond Normal Use: The renter is responsible for damage caused by misuse, neglect, loss, theft, weather exposure, or improper handling. This may include broken boards or frames, cracked or missing pieces, torn bags, water damage, stains, missing hardware, excessive dirt/mud, or games returned in unusable condition.Inspection Process: Up North Game Rentals inspects all equipment before delivery/pickup and again after the rental is returned. If damage or missing items are found, we will document the issue and contact you with repair or replacement costs. Any approved charges may be deducted from the security deposit. If costs exceed the deposit, the renter is responsible for the remaining balance.Please keep games dry, store them safely when not in use, and let us know right away if something is damaged during your rental.
Are there age requirements?
Renters must be 18+. Games are family-friendly, but children should be supervised by an adult during play.
Do I need a license or certification?
No licenses are required to rent or enjoy our yard games. For events at parks, venues, or public spaces, please check with the location for any permit requirements.
What happens if there's bad weather?
Weather Policy: We want your event to be fun and safe. If severe weather forces a cancellation, we’ll work with you to reschedule your rental for another available date or provide a full refund.Weather-related cancellations may include heavy rain, thunderstorms, high winds, or other conditions that make setup or play unsafe. If the forecast looks questionable, please contact us as early as possible so we can discuss options.If games have already been delivered and weather moves in during your event, please move items to a covered or protected area when possible. For safety and to help prevent damage, games should not be used during heavy rain, lightning, or unsafe wind conditions.Our goal is to be flexible and fair so your Up North gathering can still be a great time—rain or shine.

For pickups, please park in the designated loading area and keep driveways clear. We’ll help load your games when you arrive.
